INSTEX ST600
RECAA’s insTEX ST600 is a high performance silica fabric for use with molten metal splashes and other higher temperature environments. Silica's ability to withstand continuous molten liquid metal makes it ideal as a welding screen to protect personnel and sensitive equipment in the proximity of such high temperature works. Flexible and light, insTEX ST600 wraps easily around corners and uneven surfaces to provide secure insulation from excess heat.
Made mainly (96 %) of high melting point Silica compound (Sio2-1600oC), it is also highly resistance to various corrosive acids. Natural properties together with special weaving gives insTEX ST600 a small coefficient of thermal expansion. It is thus able to survive sudden changes in temperature without tearing, significantly increase its value in the hot works area.
insTEX ST600 has a continuous temperature resistance of 1100°C and can provide effective resistance up to 1600°C for intermittent molten sparks. Its density also makes it light and flexible without losing tensile strength, ideal for protecting uneven surfaces from heavy molten metals.
